AnnaLena x Ursa Major, "Rosie Brings The Sunshine", Kaleden, Okanagan Valley, BC, 2024

CA$45.00

Raj and Bree at Ursa Major are based in the Similkameen in the

Okanagan. When Chef Mike Robbins asked Wine Director Rev for a collaboration opportunity to design some labels as a gift for his parents, Ursa Major was the perfect choice. The name Rosie Brings the Sunshine is the line from Rosie by Bill Withers sampled in Kanye West’s ‘Roses’ off the Late Registration album. Roses is about a family.

Not just sending flowers to a loved one, but actually BRINGING the flowers to

them. Mikes’ parents like to paint, and flowers made sense. The painted yellow daisy was done by Joe, who has helped Mike build a lot of AnnaLena restaurant, and the painted pink rose by Carlene, who loves Pinot Noir and has helped lots also. Co-Owner Jeff’s Mom Laura, one of Canada’s first graphic designers, designed the third. She used Adobe to edit a photo of the super rare chocolate lily, found on Pender island where Jeff grew up. 100% organically farmed Pinot Noir grown in Kaleden to the west of Skaha lake

overlooking the lake, harvested by hand in mid-October. Organic fruit gently hand harvested and hand plunged and basket pressed for very gentle tannin extraction. Raj calls this classic Pinot Noir with a little Ursa character.
